Randi Pink

Randi Pink is an award-winning author, educator, jazz vocalist, and Alabama State Co-Leader for the Alliance Against Book Bans (AABB). A Birmingham native, she is the author of acclaimed novels including Angel of Greenwood and Girls Like Us, which was named a School Library Journal Best Book of 2019 and won the 2022 Alabama Library Association Award.

She currently serves as Alabama’s 2025 Prose Fellow and is part of South Arts' inaugural Southern Literary Fellowship. Randi also contributes as a panelist for the National Endowment for the Arts and the Alabama State Council on the Arts.

In addition to her literary work, Randi has developed and delivered hundreds of educational programs for students, teachers, and librarians across the country. Her advocacy for inclusive storytelling has brought her to major stages including the American Library Association Conference, Texas Library Association Conference, YallWest, and the Teen Book Conference. She was also featured on NBC News for her work around the Tulsa Race Massacre.

Randi is currently pursuing her MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Alabama. Through her writing, education efforts, and leadership with the Alliance Against Book Bans, she continues to champion truth, history, and the transformative power of story.
