Why Attend a Retreat?

Attending this retreat offers a dedicated, immersive experience designed to boost productivity, break through creative blocks, and foster community with other Kidlit Creators.

  1. By stepping away from daily responsibilities, you can focus entirely on your work, resulting in significant progress on projects while gaining fresh inspiration.
  2. This protected space makes it easier to tackle stubborn projects or begin new ones, fostering a sense of discipline.
  3. Boosts momentum by allowing you to dive deep into a manuscript, book dummy, or illustration project, developing ideas more fully than in short, daily bursts.
  4. Enhancing creativity and inspiration by changing your environment is a powerful way to spark new ideas and perspectives. A new setting can shake you out of a creative slump and help you see your work with fresh eyes.
  5. Community and networking. This is notoriously lonely work, but a retreat connects you with a supportive cohort of peers.
  6. Shared experience: Discussing roadblocks, plot snarls, and characters with others who understand the creative process can be validating and helpful.
  7. Psychological benefits: Attending a retreat is a strong signal to yourself that you are serious about your creative endeavors!
  8. It's an investment in yourself and your craft.
