Chad W. Beckerman is an Art Director/ Illustration Agent focusing on design, strategy, and directing illustration and images for stories. His design philosophy is that for every book, whether it’s a series, picture book, or one-off novel, it is the job of design/illustration to help create a world in which the reader becomes invested. The book’s package is what first reaches out to the reader, drawing them into the editorial experience. He set a high-standard design aesthetic for every title his staff or he works on; Chad’s overall goal is to make every book appear entertaining and to make reading a delightful and enjoyable experience for avid and reluctant readers alike.

Chad is behind the design architect for over forty New York Times bestselling and award-winning books including the blockbuster Diary of a Wimpy Kid series by Jeff Kinney, the Caldecott honor and Corretta Scott King Award winning Trombone Story, illustrated by Brian Collier and Andrea Beaty and David Robert's Iggy Peck, Rosie Revere, Ada Twist!

At the end of the presentation, Chad will participate in a critique session for participants that have signed up in advance. These 15 minute sessions can be recorded for your own use.
