Ugly Holiday Sweater Social

Mele Kalikimaka! Itʻs our year end holiday social—Letʻs get together and connect over Zoom! Relax, work on your own project(s), and enjoy the company of other members. We’ll have some time to talk before and after the main event, and we’ll also have some holiday music playing while we work. We would love to see you there! 

Here are some of our suggestions in getting ready for the event: 

- Prompt: Our suggested prompt for this evening is to incorporate the idea of “ugly holiday sweaters” or even “holiday memories” into your writing and/or illustrating, if you'd like. It’s an optional prompt.

- Dress for the occasion: Wear that "unique" holiday sweater, or just dress up with the holidays in mind in colors of red, green, gold, and/or silver. While getting into the spirit is encouraged, we won’t mind—or even know—if you’ve got pajama bottoms or slippers on.

- Read/share a passage: After the creative portion of our event is up, please read from your work afterward or share a brief passage from your favorite holiday book, if you’d like. (Please let us know as we settle in at the start of the gathering if you’d like to share, so we can plan time accordingly.)

- We’d also love to know: What is the best thing that happened to you in terms of creating children’s books in 2025?
