Meet Jazmia Young

Jazmia K. Young

Jazmia Young is an Associate Agent at Curtis Brown Ltd. She received her bachelor’s degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing at the City College of New York and was a graduate of the Publishing Certificate Program at CCNY. She is interested in representing children's books, picture books through YA, with the goal of amplifying underrepresented voices and experiences. She is looking for lyrical PBs focusing on maximizing a child's emotions, especially black children. For MG, she wants to read stories exploring identity, grief and loss, friendship, and complicated emotions. Cheesy romance YA stories filled with angst are at the top of the list. Being a New York native, anything based in the great NYC has her heart. Jazmia is also the Administrative Assistant of the Association of American Literary Agents.
