An interactive craft workshop for Middle Grade and Young Adult writers with Jayne Bauling.

Learn the subtleties of layering depth and texture into your writing whilst developing powerful stories for children: From creating relatable characters and world building to plot and teaching without preaching - not forgetting the importance of a fantastic ending. Jayne has consolidated the key lessons she's learnt from her career as an author into this compelling half-day workshop.

About Jane Bauling

Jayne Bauling is best known for her ten youth novels which have won several awards, with two being DBE-approved school set-works. She has also contributed twenty-eight stories to Fundza Literacy Trust. Her most recent novel for youth is Things I Learnt in the Forest. She also writes short stories for adults and youth, as well as poetry, and her short story A Song Sung in Secret was shortlisted for the 2024 Commonwealth Short Story Prize, the third time she has featured on the shortlist. She lives in White River in Mpumalanga.
