Impact and Legacy Fund Announces Short and Long Lists for Two Awards

The charitable arm of the SCBWI, the Impact and Legacy Fund, is thrilled to announce the short lists for The Charlotte and Wilbur Award for Compassion for Animals and the long list for the Russell Freedman Award for Nonfiction for a Better World.

Thank you so much to everyone who applied for these awards. It was an incredibly competitive year, with over 300 remarkable books submitted for consideration. Our judges worked hard to hone in on the books included on these short lists.

We will announce the winners of these two awards in March of this year. Without further ado:

Short List for the Charlotte and Wilbur Award for Compassion for Animals

Each of these books demonstrates deep compassion for the animals at the heart of their stories. We couldn’t be more delighted to support and honor these remarkable books and their creators.
