I grew up in the wilds of Washington State next to North Lake in what is now Federal Way. I spent my youth climbing trees, building camps in the forest, swimming and canoeing. I attended Federal Way school from lst grade thru 12th grade.
At the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma I met my husband. We married a week after graduation.
Our life together has taken us to Illinois, Kansas, Rhode Island, Georgia, and finally, back to Washington. It was in Georgia where I became serious about writing for children.
Nonfiction continues to be my main focus, but I diddle around with short stories and am now working on a novel.
