Carol is a children's magazine writer from Canada. Her poetry, short stories and articles for children have appeared in Cricket, Spider, High Five, Highlights For Children, The Caterpillar, Ladybug, Babybug, Skipping Stones, Knowonder!, REAL: Canadian Kids Magazine, Fun for Kidz, Boys’ Quest, Primary Treasure, Story Friends, Pockets, Zamoof!, Dirigible Balloon, and Stories for Children. Her poetry, stories and essays have been read on CBC Radio One. Her first picture book, Lily in the Loft, was published in 2017 and was a finalist in the 2019 Next Generation Indie Awards. Carol is the 2020 SCBWI Magazine Merit Award winner in the poetry category for her poem, "Moving Day Villanelle," which appeared in the Summer 2019 issue of The Caterpillar.Carol has reviewed over 100 children's books for publications such as School Library Journal, Quill & Quire, Canadian Children's Literature (CCL) and other journals. She has been a jury reader for the Canadian Society for Children's Authors, Illustrators and Performers' (CANSCAIP) Writing for Children Competition for the past five years and a reviewer and judge for the Whistler Independent Book Awards since 2020. In addition, she also provides Blue Pencil Evaluations for writers seeking feedback on their manuscripts.
