I have a Master’s Degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education.  I am a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and I subscribe to Children’s Book Insider. I have had a short story, entitled “My Mother, the Fish”, published in the American Baptist Board of Education and Publication monthly issue for children.  I am retired from education now, but my hunger for great books for children and families to nurture a love of reading continues.  In my years as an early childhood educator, I could discern very quickly how much or how little experience my students had with language and books prior to entering my classroom.   In working with parents, I realized that many simply did not understand how easily they could help their child learn.    My passion is to share with parents of young children the message of the three easy things they can do to help their child love language and books.  The natural consequence is to have children who are happy and smart and can learn anything they choose.  Life-long learners!!  Life-long readers!!
