Janet Salonius

About

Janet Salonius is an instructional media paraprofessional at a k-8 public academy.  She has a passion for helping students find inspiring books that capture their imaginations and hook them into becoming forever readers.  Her current manuscript, The Dryad’s Secret, launched her into a powerful and healing writing journey stemming from the loss of her father when she was a child.  Her experience of loss at such a tender age heavily inspired and influenced this story.  And while loss inspired the story, her view of nature as magical is apparent throughout.  Janet holds a master's degree in deaf education and a minor in visual arts from Texas Woman's University.  She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.  Janet lives in Ponte Vedra, Florida with her husband and children.
