I am the author of four children's picture books: Sing Down the Rain (Kiva Publishing), Read to Me/Vamos a leer (Star Bright Books), Ready and Waiting for You (Eerdmans Books for Young Readers), and Please Don't Give Me a Hug! (Star Bright). I taught graduate students for 25 years, most recently as an associate professor at Texas Woman’s University. I have served as a school librarian at every instructional level. I have also been a classroom teacher, literacy coach, and district-level librarian mentor. I am the author/editor of four professional books for school librarians. The most recent title is Core Values in School Librarianship: Responding with Commitment and Courage (Libraries Unlimited); Radical School Librarianship: A Global View (Facet) will publish in fall, 2025.
