Kary Lee | Author - Illustrator  As a kid, if Kary wasn’t painting backdrops on her sliding glass door, or tapping at her typewriter, she was most likely directing (bossing around) the neighborhood kids in one of her screen plays. After college and landing a job as an art director and realized she was on the wrong side of the desk. She took a painting class, discovered the Society of Children’s Book Writers and illustrators (SCBWI) and won a portfolio award at her first LA Conference. Discovering her people, her passion and her second-grade voice she made the pivot to kids publishing. A couple awards and a few books later, she’s never looked back. Kary lives in Seattle perched on a hill overlooking Puget Sound with her husband Charles and a backyard bunny.
