As a young child, I decidedly wanted to be a librarian when I grew up and then later, a visual artist. Books and art have always been a significant part of my life. After a life-changing incident as a young adult, I gave up art school (which I thoroughly loved), decided to attended nursing school, and learned a great deal working as a registered nurse for several years. Like many others, after becoming a mother, I have journeyed back to my love of art and of children's literature, with its mingling of stories and captivating images. It is my desire to help share stories that connect with and empower today's children.
