I grew up in the tiny border town of St. Stephen, New Brunswick in Canada. I have a background in acting and am an early childhood educator. I am the author of several picture books. I write for young children and read out loud to them, face-to-face or virtually, whenever I get the chance. My picture books, which include the Willow series (Kids Can Press 2010-2014) What if Bunny's Not a Bully? (Kids Can Press, 2020) and Raj's Rule (For the Bathroom at School) (Owlkids Books, 2020) have been shortlisted for awards including The Blue Spruce, The Shining Willow, The Jean Throop IODE Award and the Rainforest of Reading , and have been recognized as Canadian Children's Book Centre's Best Bets a Bank Street Book and the IBBY Outstanding Book for Young Children. I specialize in school, library and festival presentations, both in person and virtual. My literary presentations about perseverance, resilience, empathy and anti-bullying have inspired children across Canada. In addition to writing and presenting, I volunteer for literary organizations IBBY Canada, First Book, and One World Schoolhouse. I live in Burlington, Ontario, Canada with my husband. We have three grown daughters, one dependent dog and one demanding cat.
