I am the author of The Whispering Rod, an historical novel for young adults set in Puritan Boston and highlighting the life of Quaker preacher Mary Dyer. The book was chosen by the Pennsylvania Librarians Association’s annual list of best selections for young adults. In January 2014, I earned a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing at Lesley University. I also hold an MA in English Literature from the Harvard University Extension School and a BA in English Literature from the University of Massachusetts/Boston. I am currently at work on projects that include creative nonfiction for young readers as well as a second novel of historical fiction set in Boston, 1850.
