About

I have authored of historical and realistic fiction stories targeting middle grade and young adult readers. I’ve lived my entire life in the San Francisco Bay Area and recently moved to Fairfield, CA. My first book “Grandma’s Brown Cookies,” later renamed “Doctor Wizmagic’s Potion,” is a story about a boy who learns to make healthier food choices and discovers that organic brown foods are better for him. In collaboration with Yvetta “Doll” Franklin, I co-authored “The Code Switch,” a delightful story about two best girlfriends who compete to become valedictorian. My latest book, “IDK!” is a realistic work of historical fiction about soul food and a young boy’s quest to learn about his ethnic cuisine. These fun, creative stories, have educational appeal.   Apart from writing, my lengthy career has spanned both the private sector and public sectors.  While working in the private sector, I returned to school and received my master’s degree in education. I am married with children, but my husband and I are empty nesters, and are looking forward to the arrival of our first grandchild. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, writing and exercising. My favorite pastime is hiking the beautiful Bay Area Mountain trails. My personal motto is: “Aspire to Inspire!”
