Based in Vancouver, BC, Russell F. Hirsch writes fantasy fiction for MG and YA readers, as well as short fiction and poetry for adults. He has published (and forthcoming) work in a variety of literary magazines including Geist, Mirror Dance, Gingerbread House, The Avatar Review, The Nashwaak Review, The Weird and Whatnot, and the Flashes of Fantasy Anthology. Russell holds a BFA in Creative Writing and an MA in Children’s Literature from the University of British Columbia. His Master's thesis explored the portrayal of religion in the works of C.S. Lewis and Philip Pullman. He is a member of Storytellers of Canada and regularly performs traditional and original oral stories live and online.
