Wendy Kitts is a Canadian writer, artist and graphic designer who loves to tell stories by pen, by brush or by mouse. A professional freelance writer since 2000, Wendy has written over 200 articles for pubs such as the L.A. Times, the Globe & Mail and Reader's Digest. She's the author of Sable Island: The Wandering Sandbar (Nimbus, 2011), a NF middle grade, and nine NF books for the US Library & Educational market. Wendy's the administrator of a picture book writing award for her home province of New Brunswick. The Alice Kitts Memorial Award is named for her mother, a children's author/illustrator. She's also the New Member Liaison for the San Diego SCBWI chapter. Wendy loves to write near the ocean and since 2011, she has split her time between Mission Beach, CA and Caissie Cape, NB.
