Announcing Scholarship Winners to the In-Person Winter Conference

Here are the winners for the 2024 Winter In-Person Conference in New York City.

BIPOC Scholarship

For Black, Indigenous and People of Color. Two Grand Prize Winners receive all-expense-paid trips to the In-Person Winter Conference.

The winners are Nadine Pinede and Dorinda Nicholson.

Student Illustrator Scholarship

Conference tuition for full-time university students studying illustration. Two Grand Prize Winners receive free tuition to the in-person winter conference and a special spotlight in the Portfolio Showcase.

The winners are Lingyan Gu and Bonnie Wong.

General Conference Scholarships

Grand Prize: Author/Illustrator Scholarship - This scholarship is available to two emerging author/illustrators. It includes tuition to the New York Conference, free manuscript consultation, and free inclusion in the Portfolio Showcase.

The Author/Illustrator Scholarship sponsored by DRYDENBKS LLC went to Lexi K. Nilson.

The Author/Illustrator Scholarship sponsored by Little, Brown BFYR went to Sara Aziz.

Grand Prize: Translation Scholarship - This scholarship, sponsored by Ruta Sepetys, is available to one SCBWI translator. It includes tuition to the New York Conference and a free manuscript consultation. The winner was Hongyu Jasmine Zhu.

Grand Prize: Disability Scholarship - This scholarship is available to one disabled creator (author or illustrator). It includes tuition to the New York Conference and one free manuscript or portfolio consultation. The winner was Leslie Nightingale.
