Harshita Jerath writes stories that seek to entertain children. She shares her views about everyday life on her blog, https://ipenlife.com/. Her debut picture book, THE LEAPING LADDOO, illustrated by Kamala Nair, will be published by Albert Whitman in March 2022. Harshita is represented by Beth Marshea of Ladderbird Literary Agency. Last month, our E&I team, Ebonie Fields and Karen Chow, chatted with Harshita Jerath, picture book author of “THE LEAPING LADDOO" (Albert Whitman & Co, 2022), and "COOLER THAN LEMONADE" (Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, 2023). Her upcoming book, "A Sweet Diwali" (2024), is inspired by her childhood friendship with her dachshund dog, Dollar. She currently lives with her family in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Harshita shared her journey to publication and offered a lot of inspirational advice to creators of children's books.
