Congratulations to Katherine Pew, on her debut book deal.

Anne Schwartz at Random House/Anne Schwartz Books has acquired world rights to Little Bat and the Queens of the Night by debut author Katherine Pew (l.), illustrated by Charles Santoso. In this informational picture book, a young bat, accompanied by her mama, pays her first visit to the "Queens of the Night"—colorful flowers that bloom for only one night each year. Publication is planned for summer 2027; Jennifer Mattson at Andrea Brown Literary Agency represented the author, and Justin Rucker at Shannon Associates represented the illustrator.

Congratulations to Julia Hammond, on the release of her debut book.

SOULFUL STRUTTIN' is a joyful story about a father-daughter relationship full of humor and love. Inspired by her childhood with her Black father from New Orleans and Brazilian mother, author Julia Pierre Hammond has written a story that appeals to all the senses, using music, food, vivid visuals, rhythm, noises, dancing, and language. Additional material at the back of the book includes a cleanup playlist, a gumbo recipe, a game, and questions to help readers think about the story and themselves.
