Congratulations to the winner of the 2023 A. Orr Fantasy Award, Rebecca Villarreal, for her YA science fiction novel VICARIOUSLY. The award, which was created by Michele Orr in honor of her late sister, the SFF author Alice Orr, honors excellence in science fiction, fantasy, and other works of speculative fiction for children. Each year, one unpublished writer is selected based on the strength of their manuscript sample, winning $600 cash, free tuition to the SCBWI Summer Conference, and exclusive exposure to acquiring agents and editors.
