Network Organisers

SCBWI Scotland is run by Tibo Torelli (based in Stirling) and Lynwen Pirie (based in Aberdeen). We cover everywhere in Scotland from Shetland to Dumfries and Galloway and have members in all of those places and in between. We run monthly critique groups online and in person, for all genres and age groups. We run social events as well as information sessions on regular basis. We also often chair events at the Edinburgh International Book Festival in the summer. We send newsletters regularly to our Scottish members to keep you updated on the upcoming events and critique groups dates, so if you haven’t had one, please get in touch at scotland@britishscbwi.org and we’ll make sure you’re on our list.

Lynwen Pirie

Lynwen lives in the North-East of Scotland with her husband and three daughters. She loves everything about stories and mainly writes Middle Grade novels with humour and plenty of heart. She has completed the 12 Month Writing for Children and Young Adults and Work On Your Novel with the Golden Egg Academy. Lynwen has been working with children for the past 20 years mainly as a primary school teacher for the past 14 years. When she's not playing with her girls, her favourite thing to do is scribbling down a fantastical story she's invented. Lynwen is currently being mentored with the Golden Egg Academy.

Tibo Torelli

Tibo lives in Stirling and joined SCBWI in March 22. His passport is British, his accent is French, his name is Italian and his drama is Korean. He's been writing since the age of 10 and pursued a career of scriptwriter in London for 12 years before moving to Scotland. He writes picture books and chapter books, the perfect media for his stories, he is in awe of illustrators and how they can visually tell a story.
