Eastern PA SCBWI Banner Challenge
We’re inviting all current Eastern PA SCBWI members to submit their design for a banner to represent our region. We will change the banner twice a year: March 31 for Spring/Summer and September 30 for Fall/Winter.

Eastern PA SCBWI is updating our banner, and we need your help!
Twice a year we change the banner that graces the top of our Eastern PA SCBWI website homepage, blog, newsletter, and social media profiles to feature artwork from illustrator members in our region.
We’re inviting all current Eastern PA SCBWI members to submit their design for a banner to represent our region. We will change the banner twice a year: March 31 for Spring/Summer and September 30 for Fall/Winter.
You may design either a Spring/Summer or a Fall/Winter themed banner or something that relates to our Eastern PA region.
Please note: SCBWI is no longer using the kite logo or the owl logo, so we are not looking for these images to be included. We are interested in seeing a diverse representation of characters.
New this year! The submissions will be judged and winners selected by a jury of professional illustrators from our region!
Artwork details
Banner specs:
- Dimensions (it’s important that the entire image be legible when reproduced for these pixel counts): 3200 x 1000 pixels
- Color mode: RGB
- Format: jpeg
- Size: 72 PPI
Please include the words “Eastern PA SCBWI” somewhere on the banner.
The use of generative AI is not permitted. See SCBWI’s policy on AI.
Submission information
Submission due date: February 28, 2026.
You must be a current Eastern PA SCBWI member. In other words, your dues must be current* and you must reside in Eastern PA.** Please make sure you are following the Pennsylvania East region in your member profile so that we can verify your membership.
Please do not include your name on the artwork itself. Judging will be done anonymously. For the banners that are selected, we will ask the artist to add their name to the final version that gets posted.
Send your file to Robyn Stone, Illustrator Coordinator, at [email protected] by February 28, 2026. Please use “2026 Banner Challenge” in the subject line. Please be sure to include your name in the file name of your illustration (so we can keep track of who created each design). Save your file as a jpeg, titled as follows: Lastname_epabanner2026.jpg.
Winning designs for both seasons will be announced on the EasternPennPoints blog in mid March.
The selected banners will be displayed on our SCBWI regional home page, blog, newsletter, and social media profile backgrounds for six months.
