LET'S TALK AGENTING with Agent Sheila Fernley
What better way to end the year than a holiday party and chat with a literary agent? Join Sheila Fernley and SCBWI Florida members for great food and honest conversation about representation. This workshop is designed for unagented and agented members. Sheila will share valuable information about agenting, provide helpful handouts, and answer all submitted questions. Should time permit additional questions will be taken and answered during the workshop.

As a special holiday gift, Sheila will:
· Hold a drawing for a free manuscript and query letter critique and a 30-minute Zoom meeting. The winner, who must be present, may submit a full picture book manuscript or up to 10 pages of a MG or YA novel, plus a query letter for that project. Author/Illustrators may submit a full picture book manuscript with sample illustrations, plus a query letter for that project. The manuscript, sample illustrations, and query letter must be submitted by January 30, 2026, and the Zoom must be scheduled by February 28, 2026, This critique and Zoom meeting may be used by the winner or gifted to a friend.
· Offer a special link at the workshop for all members present to submit one PB, MG, or YA project for consideration. The deadline for submissions is Midnight, January 30, 2026. Submissions include a full picture book manuscript or up to ten (10) pages of a MG or YA novel, plus a query letter for that project Author/Illustrators may submit a full picture book manuscript with sample illustrations, plus a query letter for that project. Sheila Fernley is an Associate Literary Agent with Storm Literary Agency. She is actively building her client list, which includes authors and author/illustrators in the following categories: PB, MG, and YA. Sheila considers fiction and nonfiction genres and subgenres. A former special education teacher and editor, Sheila is currently a picture book author, editorial agent, and a mentor for picture book writers.
