Join author Dr. Stacy B. Davids for a practical workshop geared for all experience levels that dives deep into crafting a picture book based on page-by-page and spread-by-spread story structure. She’ll describe the elements that should occur on each spread so that the story has great pacing and a satisfying beginning, middle, and end. Of course, rules can be broken and there is room for variation. Stacy will provide attendees with her secret, picture book structure reference guides that no one has seen before. She’ll also share her quick and easy picture book dummy technique. Novel structure will be briefly discussed as some elements are similar to picture books. Attendees are encouraged (but aren’t required) to bring one or two completed manuscripts in order to start applying the techniques right away. Stacy will bring a few copies of her books that will be available for cash purchase.
