Whereas picture books are read aloud by adults, beginning-reader and early chapter books must meet the needs of young readers. The webinar will explore key features of books in these categories and do brief writing exercises together. Also, while these categories generally target children across ages 4-8, Katie will highlight the importance of creating books with high-interest content now that more and more older children need these same supports in order to progress on their reading journeys.
