This scholarship awards a one-year membership to SCBWI for a member who identifies as a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) kid lit creator. With this award, we hope to support BIPOC authors and illustrators who create books that resonate with and reflect the experiences of children who are underrepresented.
Qualifications: Must be a member of the Montana chapter, at least 18 years of age, who identifies as BIPOC and is a writer and/or illustrator of children’s literature.
Award: A one-year membership to the SCBWI.
Deadline: Applications are accepted Nov. 1st - Dec. 1st.
The recipient of the BIPOC Scholarship will be notified by December 15th, 2021 and the announcement will be made in the SCBWI-MT Winter Newsletter.
