Calling all novel writers! Want to write a novel for kids but not sure where to start? Have lots of ideas but not sure which ones will work best? Have a work-in-progess and need some accountability and guidance? In this virtual workshop, you will dive deep into writing a children's novel. Writing From the Inside Out: Novel Workshop is offered by the Nebraska region starting September 2024 with George Jreije. Classes will be 11am - 12:30pm CST.
Designed specifically for aspiring authors of children’s literature, this 4-session course, led by Nancy Sharp Wagner, will demystify the self-publishing process. From setting up a publishing business to marketing a masterpiece, participants will learn how to make their publishing dreams a reality. Discuss various formatting software options available for both picture books and longer works (chapter books and novels), ensuring that your project is ready to take its place in the book world. In the third session, elevate your self-publishing know-how by learning to launch your book on Amazon. Learn to navigate categories, craft compelling book descriptions, select keywords, and enhance your Amazon presence with A+ content and an Author Central page. October 8, 2024 from 7:00-8:30pm CT.
In the fourth and final session, finish your deep dive into the basics of self-publishing with a discussion of marketing techniques and alternative selling options beyond Amazon. Review options for building a website, developing an author email list, and connecting with your audience in meaningful ways. October 22, 2024 from 7:00-8:30pm CT.

Join us for an illustrator's intensive with Katie Fitch, Scholastic Art Director.
