Many groups have found that online critiquing is a great option. See below for a current listing of open groups. Are you interested in forming another online group? Please email us at centralnecritiquegroups@gmail.com and one of the regional coordinators will get back to you.
Chapter Books - YA Fiction: NEW!
This is a group of writers working on novels ranging from chapter books to YA fiction. All the members are published authors, educators working with young readers, or both. Having met for years at a public library, the group now convenes online on the last Wednesday evening of each month with an in-person get-together planned each fall. For more information contact jnolbell@earthlink.net.
PB/MG Regionwide:
An online critique group based out of the Worcester, MA area will meet through Zoom. All PB and MG writers are welcome. We will meet the first Wednesday of each month from 7pm - 8:30pm. Contact Deborah at deborah.davey@comcast.net for more information.
MG Regionwide:
A new region wide virtual critique group for middle grade writers will begin meeting on the last Sunday of the month at 7:00 PM. The group is open to writers and writer/illustrators writing for ages 7 to 12 working on early chapter books, middle grade novels, or graphic novels. Work will be submitted one week prior to the meeting via Word Documents attached to an email to give participants time to read manuscripts prior to the meeting. Looking for writers committed to fostering an encouraging, inclusive environment to share constructive feedback. Contact Celeste at: celestebocchicchiochaudhri@gmail.com
PB Regionwide:
A new critique group for Writers/Illustrators of picture books is now forming. (Only a writer? No problem.) Because many published souls gather with their critique partners frequently, this one will be scheduled to meet virtually twice a month, although exact dates and times will be determined by its 3-5 members. Focus is to be on giving feedback on work presented, but if time allows, the sharing of any industry information is encouraged, too. Prior experience with writing is needed (e.g. critique participation, publishing, or placement in contests, etc.). For further information, contact Sheila at skberenson@gmail.com.
