Writers' Garden

Welcome to the SCBWI New Jersey Region’s Garden State Writers’ Garden! 

The Writers’ Garden is a monthly support/accountability meeting that will meet every third Thursday of the month. A member of our Regional Team will always be in attendance. It will be an ongoing meeting for members who find that life has gotten in the way of putting pen to paper or for when those sneaky little doubts creep up, causing one to question if they should be writing in the first place. 

Note: The Writer’s Support meeting is not a critique group so there should be no reading or sharing of manuscripts. It will be a place of support and motivation and will allow you to shift and renew your commitment to your craft. 

The Format:

• Take turns introducing yourself 
• Share what your obstacle has been and what your intended writing goal for the month will be
• Meeting attendees can support by sharing solutions or just words of encouragement
• Since this will be a one hour meeting we highly suggest that sharing is brief to allow everyone (if its a large group) in attendance to share.

Be sure to download and print the Writer’s Goal log so that you can keep track of your goals for the next meeting. Members are not required to attend every month.
