Online event

Available seats 50

You’ve finished a first draft of your novel. It’s got a beginning, a middle and an end. But your first draft is only the first step on your road to publication. The difference between a good novel and a publishable one is a rigorous revision process. Sara Grant will lead an in-depth workshop on editing based on her new book The Ultimate Guide to Editing Your Novel: A revolutionary approach to transform your writing, which was published last June by Writers’ & Artists’/Bloomsbury. Sara uses a combination of discussion, hands-on exercises and practical tips developed from her years of experience as an author, editor, mentor and university lecturer. Participates should have a printed or electronic copy of two chapters from work-in-progress to make the most of the exercises discussed during the workshop. Highlighters or colour pens will be handy if you are using a printed copy. Cost includes a copy of The Ultimate Guide to Editing Your Novel, which will be mailed to participants. (UK only. If you live outside of the UK, contact SCBWI Scotland for additional shipping costs or the ability to donate your book.)

Standard price:$ 40
