Meridth McKean Gimbel (they/them) is a neurodivergent and non-binary writer and illustrator who loves to create books that are like a snuggly blanket, an open window, and a very accessible door.
They are pleased to say that they have been the recipient of some fancy schmancy awards for their art and writing, including the National SCBWI-LA Mentorship award. Their critically acclaimed debut book DOOR BY DOOR (written by Meeg Pincus) has received a variety of accolades, including a starred review from Booklist, and it has been selected as a finalist for the 2024 Lambda Literary Children's Book Award.
Meridth lives with their family and a lovable rescue pup, who is not to be trusted. They are happily rep'd by Alexandra Levick at Writers House, and hope to continue making books until the ripe old age of 103.
