Barbara Malley is the illustrator of How to Remember Everything from Odd Dot/Macmillan and the Camp Epic: Villains comic book from Epic! Kids. She currently teaches courses at California State University Fullerton and California State University Long Beach in the the animation and illustration departments with a focus on life drawing, animal drawing, anatomy, character design, and cartooning. Barbara spends her free time sketching, making handmade books, hiking in nature, collecting rocks, and reading manga. These interests inspire artwork that she contributes to local group and juried art shows.
Typically we meet the second Saturday of the month, but this November is an exception.
Height is not the only difference between children and adults. This talk will focus on the key traits of the head and the body to adjust to help create a wide range of characters, regardless of how simple or complex the art style is. A critique will follow the lecture with tips on how to revise poses to make the sense of life, anatomy, and balance stronger.
