Breezers Making Waves: Negrita Smart

This month’s Breezer Making Waves is Negrita Smart, author of Putting God First: An Inspirational Guide for Teenagers, and a picture book series featuring a main character named Grace.

Let’s dig into Negrita’s news!

Hi Negrita. What are we celebrating with you?

I released two books in the month of February. I have released a total of four books. The first three books comprise a children's book series. In release order, the book titles are Grace and the Golden Rule, Grace Loves Her Neighbor, and Grace and the Power of Prayer. Grace is the main character. She is a five-year old girl with a big heart. Grace is faced with different situations and demonstrates the life lessons taught to her by her parents. The fourth book release was specifically written for teenagers. The book is titled, Putting God First: An Inspirational Guide for Teenagers. This is a heartfelt guide designed to build a meaningful relationship with God through powerful scriptures and practical guidance. The year 2025 also marks my two-year anniversary as an author.

I am beyond grateful for these accomplishments and for the platform to share such inspiring stories through relatable characters.

What do you feel led you to this place on your journey?

I believe I have a called assignment to teach young people lessons about kindness, love, sharing, unselfishness, and faith. 

Do you have any advice for Breezers who want to achieve something similar?

I would encourage Breezers to first identify their goals (purpose). To accomplish goals, ask for help and guidance by seeking out mentors, taking advantage of resources, and learning from successes and failures.
