QUESTIONS

PARKING: There is ample parking near the Library for Saturday. Other parking in Savannah is on street. There is an app called ParkSavannah that you can download and enter in your information prior.

Will there be an opportunity for my portfolio to be seen? Paid Portfolio Reviews are available at Registration.

Are the sessions, keynotes, or panels recorded? No recordings will be made of any session, keynote, or panel during the conference weekend. This conference is an in-person experience only.

Can I bring my child to the conference? All SCBWI conferences and events are for people 18 or older who registered for the conference. Children are not permitted to participate in the conference sessions or be within the conference area for their safety, to satisfy the insurance contract, and for the ease of conference attendees. Children accompanied by an adult are welcomed to the morning public library sessions but not for the workshop intensives.

Will lunch be provided at the conference? Meals are not provided. We encourage attendees to explore downtown Savannah wonderful restaurants during the hour-and-a-half lunch break, which are all within walking distance.

Refund Policy

SCBWI is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. SCBWI Regions are managed by unpaid volunteers. Region funds support programs that benefit SCBWI members.

As part of the event planning process, Regional Advisors must sign contracts with venues, speakers, critiquers, vendors, and others who will be providing services during a regional activity. Registration fees collected for an event must cover the cost of these contracts; therefore, refunds are the exception rather than the rule. In the rare case a refund is granted, it will always be less any credit card processing fees and any other processing expenses.

By registering for an event, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the event’s refund policy. Because fees paid to professionals for manuscript critiques, portfolio reviews, intensive programming, mentorships, pitch evaluations, and other exclusive offerings are contracted in advance, these fees cannot be refunded for any reason. Also, any manuscript that isn't received by the deadline of February 15th cannot be accepted for consideration.

SCBWI Policies

Please take a moment to read the SCBWI Policies that govern all regional events. By registering for an event, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these policies.

SCBWI has a zero-tolerance policy against harassment of any kind. Any violation of this policy is actionable. The RA has the right to refuse admittance to anyone whose behavior is disruptive to the event, attendees, or faculty.
