2025 SPRING MINGLE Event Details

Decatur Library, DeKalb County Public Library

215 Sycamore St, Decatur, GA 30030

Hours of Operation: Friday & Saturday 9am-6pm. Closed on Sundays

FOR THE ILLUSTRATORS!

  1. QUICK FIRE CRITIQUE (FREE) is a session where you'll have your work critiqued in a fast paced session. This is available to all conference attendees. See form above for more information! WORK MUST BE SUBMITTED ONE WEEK BEFORE CONFERENCE.
  2. PORTFOLIO SHOWCASE (FREE): Another conference favorite, the Portfolio Showcase features the work of artists and illustrators from the Southern Breeze region. For artists/illustrators: Showcase and promote your work. This year, 2025, guests and attendees of this event include Decatur Library visitors and the public, conference faculty and attendees and others. Get your work noticed by participating in the Portfolio Showcase! For attendees and the public: View the work of new and emerging artists, as well as pieces by more seasoned illustrators. Get to know your favorite and future favorite illustrators! SCBWI is not responsible for any portfolios or promotional materials left behind. Upon conference registration online, each portfolio showcase participant must read the online release and check the box indicating approval prior to leaving the portfolio for review. REGISTER YOUR PORTFOLIO WITH CONFERENCE REGISTRATION.
  3. POST CONFERENCE PORTFOLIO REVIEWS (NOT FREE, PAID): These paid reviews are held one week after the conference with our guest Art Director of the conference or with an Art Representative. Details will be on the Conference Registration Website. WORK MUST BE SUBMITTED BY THE END OF CONFERENCE. It is encouraged to submit your post conference portfolio after you submit payment with Registration. (Note, Jime Wimmer will be at the Decatur conference to assist anyone who needs some help with PDFs and presentation)
