Jime holds an MFA in Illustration from Hartford University and a BS in Art Education. She's been a part of SCBWI since 2005, starting in Pennsylvania, moving to Oklahoma, and now here in Georgia!
Jime is co-owner of WimmerStudios.com with her husband, illustrator Mike Wimmer. Her personal work is inspired by vintage illustrations with a heavy emphasis on "line" and traditional drawing combined with digital coloring. Some of her favorite illustrators are: Beatrix Potter, Anne Yvonne Gilbert, Lisbeth Zwerger, and some lesser-known illustrators such as Olive Bailey, Evelyn Kelbish, and Karen Milone.
She is also a professor in Savannah, GA, where she often instructs drawing courses in Storyboard, Inventing Environments, Imaginative Characters, etc. for upperclassmen electives in Animation, Illustration, Sequential Art, and more.
Jime was a public school art educator for ten years and is starting her ninth year teaching at the collegiate level. Before those experiences, she worked for Procter & Gamble as a paper technician for nine years.
She is the proud mom of two grown sons and shares an extended family with her husband Mike. She is a big fan of Coffee, Cats, and anything CUTE!
