Assistant Editor, Peachtree Books
Zoie Janelle Konneker (she/her) is an Assistant Editor at Peachtree Publishing Company in Atlanta, Georgia. She interned at two local publishing houses before graduating from Georgia Tech in with a BS in Literature, Media, & Communication in 2020. Between graduation and her acceptance of a full-time role at Peachtree, she worked as a Foster Coordinator at a metro-Atlanta animal shelter and attributes her love for cats and color-coded spreadsheets to her time there. Her goal is to leave the world better than she found it through elevating underrepresented voices in children’s literature and putting relatable, relevant stories in the hands of those that need them most.
I am seeking children’s fiction across middle grade and young adult audiences, as well as both fiction and non-fiction picture books. Non-fiction picture book projects should align with current U.S. curriculum standards and should focus on a unique perspectives or lesser known subject matters. For fiction, I gravitate toward writing styles that fits somewhere in the intersection between literary and commercial without moving too far in one direction. Manuscripts should be child-centered and should contain realistic, culturally relevant themes. For all genres and categories, I tend to fall in love with books that makes me laugh and/or cry—especially books that do both! Full MSWL here: manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/zoie-janelle-konneker/
