Walkout: Inspired by a true story, Walkout follows Maddie as she stands up for what's right by organizing a peaceful school walkout against school violence and inspires her best friend Stella to find the courage to join her.

Tina leads inspiring school visits and writing workshops. After 33 years as an educator, she loves returning to schools to connect with children and collaborate with teachers in new, impactful ways. Tina shares her passion for storytelling while helping students and educators discover the joy and power of words.

Tina participates in local book festivals and delivers keynotes that align with conference themes. As a former educator, children's author, and speaker, she brings a unique ability to connect with audiences on topics such as leadership, confidence, empathy, and the power of storytelling.

Tina Shepardson draws on her experience as both an educator and a parent to spark curiosity and wonder in young readers. A 33-year award-winning teacher and children’s author, Tina is passionate about inspiring, educating, and engaging kids through books. She is the author of Walkout, The Sorry Seeds, a Children’s Book Council Teacher Favorite - 2025, and Canines Unleashed: Hank’s New Pack.

Tina is also the creator and host of The Lil’ Leaders Podcast, where she celebrates young voices by interviewing kids about their life experiences. Each episode encourages leadership, empathy, and literacy, helping kids celebrate the traits, experiences, and actions of leaders through their own stories. The show also offers picture book suggestions tied to the interviews, making it both fun and educational.
