Little Meena and the Big Swim

Little Meena and the Big Swim/La Pequeña Meena y el Gran Nado is a tale of collective triumph over bullying and greed. The story follows a group of young fish who, with the guidance of an elder, organize to make positive change in their community. To their amazement, they find that working together gives them superpowers. At once joyful and poignant, the book will delight readers of all ages while leaving them with important lessons about how to harness the power of solidarity to benefit everyone. •••••••••••••••••••••••• “This timely book encourages young readers to confront important issues like bullying and greed and collaboratively address challenges that might appear overwhelming. The accompanying art activity and song help to demonstrate the power of collective action with the theme of “stronger together.” The book provides a platform for dialogue between generations, encouraging children to work with elders to find solutions, and to practice grassroots community organizing skills.” Ms. Elise Bryant, President of the Coalition of Labor Union Women, Founder and Director of the DC Labor Chorus
