TAP AND RAP, MOVE AND GROOVE

The new picture book by dance educator Connie Bergstein Dow, with a diverse cast of children beautifully illustrated by Debbie Palen, is an innovative approach to offering creative movement to young children. The book's 14 playful stories, presented in rhythmic chant form, encourage movement explorations, inspire children's imaginations, and reinforce early literacy skills. The many early childhood concepts embedded in the story/chants are geared to a wide variety of learning styles, and also address important developmental skills, such as body awareness, problem solving, and self expression.
