Each critique is 10 pages of a manuscript or picture book dummy and written feedback is returned after 4 weeks. No communication with the critiquer.
Each critique is 10 pages of a manuscript or picture book dummy, read beforehand by faculty, then meeting VIRTUALLY in a 10-min one-on-one zoom meeting to discuss.
One-on-one Zoom sessions with faculty to review an illustrator’s portfolio. Illustrators may choose to submit materials in advance for faculty to review before the session, or share their work live during the meeting. Participants may present a portfolio or a dummy. Art directors may also use this time to hear illustrators briefly discuss or pitch their work.
Agent and editor pitch sessions are 10-minute time slots where you may either pitch your story to the agent or editor, or use the time to ask questions about the industry (called AMA). The session guarantees you one-on-one time with that faculty member.
A pitch is not a guarantee of acceptance of your manuscript. You will NOT need to bring your manuscript to the pitch. The pitch is verbal only and is a summary of the book in question. You will not be reading from any portion of your manuscript during the session. If the agent or editor requests to see your manuscript, they will tell you how to send it to them.
Please ensure you pitch only to faculty who are seeking your age/genre.
**ILLUSTRATORS can pitch agents who are looking for illustrators or author/illustrators! You can show them your portfolio!
There are NO refunds for any feedback sessions.
