We are excited to offer several opportunities to our PAL (Published and Listed) members who attend the conference.
SCBWI Author/Illustrator Slideshow
Displayed throughout the conference
SCBWI Midsouth PAL members who are attending the conference may submit good news to be digitally displayed on the large projector screen in our main meeting room throughout the conference. Please share your book covers, pictures from your book launch parties, school visits, award ceremonies, festival booths, speaking engagements or anything else you're excited to share at the conference. Instructions on submitting materials for display will be sent to each PAL via email closer to the conference date. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT IS AUGUST 1.
Sign Books at the Midsouth Autograph Party and Cocktail Hour
5:00–7:00 p.m. Saturday
Help us celebrate the creativity and success of the Midsouth (and beyond!)! Our conference Autograph Party and Cocktail Hour is a long-standing tradition in the Midsouth. It showcases our author/illustrator faculty, as well as authors and illustrators throughout the region with recent publications. Most of us can say that SCBWI has played a part in our journey, and it is really a blast to celebrate our success (and one another) in a space where we were once the new kids!
Eligible attendees may select this option when registering for the conference. These slots fill quickly, so register early if you’d like to be a part of the Autograph Party and Cocktail Hour signing.
Acceptance to the Autograph Party includes placement in our on-site bookstore! Your books will be available to purchase throughout the conference weekend.
Eligibility and Guidelines:
Preference will be given to authors and illustrators who have published a new title since the last SCBWI Midsouth conference (September 2025) and to authors from the Midsouth Region. A waiting list for members from other regions and those without new titles will be compiled, and we will fill remaining signing spots on a first-come basis after June 1.
Participation in this event is limited to the first 30 author or illustrator PAL-level SCBWI members who complete online registration and pay registration fees.
Up to five titles with valid ISBNs must be submitted by August 1st. Titles for signing must be:
- Published as children’s or young adult literature
- Returnable and have no minimum order requirements
- Be readily available according to Parnassus Books’ sales terms and suppliers (returnable, 40% discount).
Self-published titles are eligible, IF they meet the above requirements or are ALREADY stocked by Parnassus Books. We will NOT be selling books on consignment this year, which means you may not bring them yourself.
Authors and illustrators, PLEASE determine the publication date and availability of your titles before deciding to participate.
