Middle Grade/YA Fiction Cohort Beginner/Intermediate is for you if
• You have completed 2 or more Middle Grade or Young Adult manuscripts.
• You have been attending a critique group regularly and are beginning to get positive feedback on your work.
• You’re looking for feedback to take your work to the next level.
You’ll submit up to 50 double-spaced pages of a middle grade or young adult fiction manuscript each month, for a total of 6 mentor critiques, plus monthly peer critiques from the other members of your cohort. You may choose to submit new material each month, or revise and resubmit previously critiqued material.
Maximum size of this cohort is 3 participants.

About Mentor Kathy MacMillan
Kathy MacMillan
is an author, American Sign Language interpreter, librarian, and storyteller. She has published 25 books for children, teens, and adults, including picture books (the Little Hands Signing series and THE RUNAWAY SHIRT from Familius Press), children’s nonfiction (SHE SPOKE: 14 WOMEN WHO RASIED THEIR VOICES AND CHANGED THE WORLD, Familius Press and Super Cities: Baltimore, Arcadia Press), young adult fiction (Compton Crook Award Finalist SWORD AND VERSE and DAGGER AND COIN, HarperTeen), and adult nonfiction (LITTLE HANDS AND BIG HANDS, Hands Up Press, as well as multiple books for ALA Editions). In addition to publishing with both small and large presses, she has worked with book packagers (including the Chronicles of Cavallon series for Working Partners under the pen name Kim Forester) and work for hire.
