BEYOND THE PICTURE BOOK

As art lovers, one of the great draws of Children's Literature is its passion for and investment in quality visuals as an integral part of storytelling. And that need for great illustration extends well beyond Picture Books. The Middle Grade and Young Adult markets are hungry for eye-catching, thoughtful, diverse illustration in a wide range of art styles. In this session we will take an in-depth look at the qualities of successful Middle Grade and Young Adult covers, explore "hidden" art opportunities that exist in these markets, and discuss the benefits of adding some "shorter timeline" work to your portfolio.
