Lee Harper Studio & Farm Tour

Lee Harper is an illustrator, author, and painter best known for his illustrations for the best-selling Turkey Trouble series written by Wendi Silvano. Lee is also the illustrator of the Woolbur books written by Leslie Helakoski, and Looking for the Easy Life, written by Walter Dean Myers. The original Woolbur was the winner of state library awards in Michigan and Florida, and was nominated in nine other states. Lee has also written and illustrated several picture books of his own including: The Emperor’s Cool Clothes, Coyote, and Snow! Snow! Snow! Lee received his formal art training at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, where he was the recipient of the Louis S. Ware European Traveling Scholarship. Lee’s fine art is included in many private collections, and several of his picture book illustrations are included in the permanent collection of The Mazza Museum of International Art from Picture Books. In addition to writing and illustrating picture books, Lee leads interactive presentations at schools and was selected by The Pennsylvania Association of School Librarians as a top ten visiting author. Lee has four children and lives on a small farm in Bucks County, Pennsylvania with his wife Krista, three sheep, fourteen chickens, one dog, one cat, a gulp of barn swallows and a murder of crows. His most recent book is Turkey's Sandtastic Beach Day, the seventh book in the Turkey Trouble series. Turkey's Birthday Bash, the eighth book in the series will be released on September 10th, 2024.
