Refund Policy

Letters & Lines Refund Policy

SCBWI is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization. SCBWI Regions are managed by unpaid volunteers. Region funds support programs that benefit SCBWI members.

As part of the event planning process, The RMC Leadership Team must sign contracts with venues, speakers, critiquers, vendors, and others who will be providing services during a regional activity. Registration fees collected for an event must cover the cost of these contracts; therefore, refunds are the exception rather than the rule. In the rare case a refund is granted, it will always be less any credit card processing fees and any other processing expenses.

Regarding Letters & Lines 2026:

  • Attendees requesting a refund by the end of early registration (August 8, 2026) will receive their full registration fee less $25 to cover fees and other incidental expenses associated with planning for our conference.
  • Attendees requesting a refund by the end of regular registration (September 8, 2026) will receive their full registration fee less $50 to cover fees and other incidental expenses associated with planning for our conference.
  • Attendees requesting a refund by the end of late registration (September 25, 2026) will receive a refund of 50% of their registration fee.
  • No refunds will be granted on or after September 25, 2026.
  • Please note in all cases for requested refunds fees paid for manuscript critiques (in-person and written only), portfolio reviews (in-person and written only), the portfolio contest and intensive programming are contracted in advance with our faculty and thus cannot be refunded.
  • If your cancellation involves merchandise, you will receive a full refund less the fee stated above.

If you have any questions regarding our refund policy, please email Aaron Hickman, Letters & Lines Conference Coordinator: [email protected].
