There are a limited number of portfolio critiques available for illustrator attendees at an additional fee of $55 at the time you register for the conference. A waitlist will be accessed on a first-come first-served basis.
Submission Deadline: September 25th
Unless otherwise specified, we will return your critiqued manuscript via email the week after the conference.
While we can guarantee a professional critiquer or reviewer, we cannot guarantee a critique with an art director, agent, or specific person. You will not know your critiquer until you receive your completed critique via email the week after the conference.
CANCELLATIONS — The critique fee is NOT refundable. If you cancel your conference registration OR miss the September 25th electronic submission deadline, you will not receive a critique.
Portfolio Submission Guidelines
Read the guidelines and follow them exactly or your portfolio will not be accepted. All submissions must be received by September 25th.
1. Register for the conference BEFORE you submit your online portfolio.
2. After you register and pay for your Critique Add On, sign into our SCBWI regional page Here. Log in with your SCBWI member credentials. Go to your Member Profile and then click on Member Home. On your Member Home page, click on Events at the top. Here is where you will find all the Events you have registered for. You should see CRITIQUE ADD ON. Click on MEETING INFO. in the Critique Add On box, then go down to "Click here for Portfolio Critique Submission Form." Fill out the form and upload your portfolio to the appropriate upload link by September 25th.
3. Curate your portfolio for submission. You may submit between 10-12 images.
4. Format:
— The images must all be saved as JPG files.
— The max pixel size is 1400 x 1400. No larger.
— We highly recommend 300 DPI format.
— Each image should include the illustrator’s first and last name, email address, and website if they have one.
— The file names must be formatted as FirstNameLastNameNumber (E.g. JaceSmith1.jpg)
— Your folder name must be formatted as FirstNameLastNamePortfolio (E.g. JaceSmithPortfolio.jpg)
5. Finally, please email our portfolio critique coordinator, Annie, at this address: sfnortheastbay-ic2@scbwi.org In the subject line, put SCBWI Portfolio and then your first and last name. It should look like this: SCBWI Portfolio Jace Smith
The coordinator will notify you when it arrives. If you don’t hear from her within three days, please email her to confirm she received your file.
