Join children's book author and scholar Megan Dowd Lambert for an introduction to her Whole Book Approach, developed with The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art. Drawing on her book Reading Picture Books with Children, Megan will provide tools for engaging young readers with the picture book as a visual art form and inspire authors and illustrators to use the Whole Book Approach as a lens for inspiring creative work.

Join us for a relaxed and supportive writing session to make progress toward writing goals, build a habit, or just write alongside your SCBWI community. This is a welcoming space where you can show up exactly as you are. You can share what you are working on or simply join quietly and write. It's up to you and how you are feeling. Open to members and non-members from Alameda County and beyond!

Connect with creative community: Bring a story pitch, illustration, or recent book news. Extra: Create a 7-line poem pertaining to your story—maybe a Diamanté like we practiced at the June meet to share with the entire group!
